Project Management was another discipline that stood out as one of the few to see a positive increase in both day rates and contract lengths. In 2024, Project Management experienced a +3% increase, with freelancers earning an average of £410 per day (£51 per hour). The top 10% also saw an increase of +7% year-on-year averaging £678 per day (£85 per hour).

Experience

Lead roles exhibited a decrease of -3% year-on-year. However, all other experience levels showed growth, with Midweight experiencing a +3% increase.

Contract Length and Bookings

In 2024, average contract lengths in Project Management experienced a +11% year-on-year increase, marking the second-largest increase among the disciplines analysed, reaching 50 working days (10 weeks). Similarly, top 10% contracts witnessed a +8% decrease, averaging 90 working days (18 weeks).

All experience levels saw an increase in their contract lengths except Midweight roles which experienced a -25% year-on-year decrease. Notably, Senior roles witnessed a +20% increase.
