In 2023, PR was one of the few disciplines to experience an increase in rates. The average day rate was £395, a +3% year-on-year increase. Interestingly, the top 10% witnessed a -4% decrease year-on-year change, at £630 per day.

Experience

Director roles experienced a slight decrease of -1%, whereas Midweight roles observed the most significant year-on-year increase at +68%.

Contract Length and Bookings

In 2023, contract lengths on average decreased by -19% across PR, settling at 37 working days (just over 7 weeks). Similarly, top 10% contracts witnessed a -18% decrease, averaging 75 working days (15 weeks).

In 2023, all experience levels within PR experienced a decrease. Notably, Senior roles witnessed the most substantial decrease at -31%.

However, despite these fluctuations, PR bookings showed a positive increase of +5% year-on-year, with demand increasing in the second half of the year. October was the highest booking month in 2023.
